MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
In our consumer-driven society, design creates the user-experience. From advertising to architecture, one encounters design throughout all aspects of life. Design is ubiquitous. I notice the slight nuances we encounter every day such as typography, color relationships, and visual hierarchy. These design elements effect how we receive and process information that influences what we buy, where we go, whom we hire, and even what events we attend. We’re surrounded by design, and interacting with these elements with perspective and awareness fosters a greater understanding of its influence. Design is powerful.
My childhood experience growing up in under-served communities has prepared me to view the world from a unique perspective. I have encountered many types of people and situations, and my education in psychology allows me a deeper understanding of effective communication. Keeping my integrity intact, I actively attempt to view the world from an empathetic perspective. This allows me to visually and verbally communicate more effectively with colleagues and clients.
I am interested in the visual articulation of information in a clear and concise manner, high attention to detail, organization, and communication with others. My process also includes strategic project planning and purpose in order to deliver thorough, effective and insightful results. I strive to constantly learn and grow as a designer and soulful human being so I can better inform my colleagues, my intended audience and people in general of the effect design has on our daily lives.
